One-Day Coaching Intensives

At its core, executive coaching is a partnership between an individual or team with a professional coach.  The coach's role is to create a safe space for the client to define their current and desired future states, co-create an action plan, and facilitate reflection and execution.  Coaching is impactful when the partnership unlocks insight and action.


Both intensives are designed to be high impact and time efficient one-day investments in your success, and offer concrete deliverables to guide follow-through.

The first is a strategy intensive and the second is a team effectiveness intensive.  Both sessions use simple frameworks that facilitate dialogue, alignment, and action.

Strategy Intensive

The day begins with an orientation to the qualities of high performing team followed by dialogue about the team's culture, including behavioral expectations for the day and ongoing. The balance of the day follows a path from the high level view - what is our purpose? - through the mid range - how will we succeed? - to the ground level - what will we do over the next 12 months?

Purpose

This intensive is a brief pause of ongoing execution to align on the core purpose of your business or function and how it informs the team's work.  It is designed for leadership and functional teams setting off on a new path and those wanting to recommit to their purpose by aligning on answers to these questions:


  • What is the core purpose of our enterprise/function?
  • Where do we play?
  • How will we succeed?
  • What must each of us commit to?
  • What do we want to be true next year at this time?

Why Now?

We are operating in volatile and uncertain times and moving into a new calendar year.  Many leaders are reflecting on the year and considering adjustments to their positioning and/or priorities.  Aligning your team on the connection between your strategic vision and execution expectations is a vital ongoing imperative.

Outcomes

The team will complete and commit to these deliverables by the end of the day:

  • A concise one-page purpose document that can be consistently reinforced across the organization or team.
  • A current set of core metrics to drive the team's execution.
  • A detailed 12-month roadmap with milestones.
  • Clarity on how each team member will contribute to the team's success.

Team Effectiveness Intensive

This one-day offering is an immersion into the qualities of high performing teams along two axes, team culture and team productivity, and includes an assessment of the team's current position along those axes. * The agenda also incorporates an assessment that describes individual thinking preferences and addresses how to leverage thought diversity on the team**.

Purpose

It is practical, actionable, and designed for team leaders who are considering these questions:


  • Are we performing at our highest level, both individually and collectively?
  • Where are our blind spots?
  • Are we aligned on our goals?
  • Do we have productive conversations?
  • Are we executing effectively?

Why Now?

High team performance requires leaders to invest in relationships - team culture - and task achievement - team productivity - in a balanced fashion.  Many leaders tend to focus on one more than the other.  In addition, understanding and embracing the unique perspectives of each team member unlocks the power of thought diversity on every team.

Outcomes

Participants will conclude the day with the following:

  • Increased awareness of each member’s strengths, blind spots, and how to leverage their unique capabilities.
  • Increased role clarity.
