Anders is a certified executive and organizational coach for senior and emerging leaders, teams, and cohorts. He began his career as a wilderness instructor and has over twenty-five years of senior level operating experience in early stage and high growth healthcare delivery and technology organizations. His areas of focus are leadership development and team effectiveness.

Anders works with individuals, teams, and cohorts in developing their leadership style and competencies, cultivating their professional relationships, and achieving their personal and collective goals. The foundations of his work are 1) examining individual style, purpose, and competencies, 2) assessing and maximizing team effectiveness along cultural and executional axes, 3) cultivating a high degree of cohesion and collaboration across cohorts, and 4) co-creating and executing a development plan that fully expresses individual, team, and cohort ambitions. An overarching goal of every coaching engagement is to create a safe space that facilitates conversation, insight, and growth. The arc of a coaching engagement is directional rather than linear and can always accommodate emerging conditions.

Prior to establishing his coaching practice, and following a chapter in outdoor education, Anders served as an operations leader in a series of venture-capital backed healthcare delivery and technology companies, including athenahealth in Watertown, Massachusetts. As athenahealth’s first operations executive, Anders formed the company’s professional services, account management, and client operations groups during the company’s first ten years and through its successful IPO. Anders has also served as board chair for a large not-for-profit healthcare organization serving eastern Massachusetts and is a lifelong outdoorsman.

Anders’ academic credentials include an MS in Organizational Psychology from the University of Oregon and an MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is certified as Professional Executive Coach by Columbia University’s Coaching Certification Program (2019) and a Trained Mediator by MWI (2020).
